My name is Tamar Feldman, and I am a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator. I have been a dietitian since 2006, and have since learned a lot about my passions (as well as non-passions!)
While I initially followed the traditional route of Clinical Dietitian in both the hospital and long term care settings, it did not take me very long to come to the conclusion that my interests lay in other areas. I launched my private practice in 2008 and have worked with thousands of individuals since then in the areas of weight management, diabetes, pregnancy and child nutrition, and my most passionate: gastrointestinal and autoimmune diseases.
The increasing number of cases of gastrointestinal disease I was noticing around me, and the failure of the available mainstream medical treatments to address the root issue in these cases, piqued my interest. In contrast, I was fascinated by the functional medicine approach to healing gut and autoimmune conditions, which addresses underlying factors such as diet and environmental influences.
I have since developed relationships with other functional medicine doctors and nutrition professionals, educated myself on current research and protocols, and have seen astounding success with my clients with GI and autoimmune conditions. My research and training in functional medicine continues to evolve, and I never expect to consider my knowledge complete.
My passion for good healthy food the way it was created extends into my personal life, as wife to my wonderful husband and mom to my four beautiful children. I enjoy experimenting with whole foods and herbs in the kitchen, exercising, enjoying nature, and snapping pictures of "the dietitian's kids relishing their ratatouille."
If you are tired of the "band-aid solutions," and are ready to really heal your gut through diet and supplements, I consider it in honor to educate and guide your journey.
