Frequently Asked Questions

PCOS clients are a very gratifying class of individuals for me to work with. If the goal is to reduce symptoms, lose weight, or regulate cycles, almost all will see some degree of improvement and achievement of goals. PCOS clients have a harder time losing weight, and the progress is slower, but with patience, it DOES happen.

My approach involves recommending the following:

  • Low carb high protein meal plan tailored to your individual calorie requirements and lifestyle that is DO-ABLE long term! This is an important factor, as if it can’t be followed long term, and you go entirely in the opposite direction after a few months, chances are the cycle of dysregulation will just continue.
  • Strength training twice weekly, preferably with heavier weights and fewer reps
  • Moderate intensity cardio exercise, as often and as much as possible for your lifestyle!
  • Avoiding exposure to chemical endocrine disruptors
  • Supplements, including but not limited to NAC, berberine, inositol, omega 3’s, and alpha lipoic acid. There may be other supplements needed if you have a fatty liver or severe insulin resistance, or if you have a gut or thyroid issue in addition

While I have had quite a bunch of success cases with many PCOS clients becoming pregnant, I never make any guarantees. I also cannot predict if I will be able to help you avoid medications entirely or progress to more intensive forms of medical intervention.

That being said, from my anecdotal experience, wherever you are in your trying to conceive journey, I know strongly from past experience that my interventions help! Those I have worked with also strongly felt that they had better outcomes, were able to prevent the need for more advanced medical interventions, and saw improvements specifically once they started our dietary and functional medicine interventions.

I consider myself a partner with your medical team. I am happy to add to a client’s outcomes in conjunction with what medicine has to offer. That being said, I often can add a unique perspective to your case that a mainstream medical doctor may not be trained enough in or won’t have as much hands-on experience with, which can add to your success when done in conjunction with the traditional medical approach.

For other forms of female infertility, my work can often improve thyroid/progesterone/estrogen levels and egg quality enough that assuming all other fertility concerns have been ruled out, chance of pregnancy is greatly improved. While I never make 100% guarantees, I love working with this population, and have seen some exciting successes!

Yes! This is actually one of my FAVORITE classes of people to work with, as results are almost 100% guaranteed in my experience. I have worked with cases that had very poor outcomes in initial retrievals, and had 3x as many eggs retrieved after just 8 weeks of following my recommendations and supplements. I recommend a lot of evidence-based recommendations for supplements, and when combined with toxic chemical avoidance for 8-12 weeks, follicles are more likely to develop into healthy mature eggs. I recommend a minimum of 8 weeks of following the protocol prior to doing another retrieval, with 12 weeks for optimal results.

Yes. Many of the interventions in female fertility, such as avoidance of endocrine disruptors, reducing toxic chemicals, and an anti-inflammatory diet, benefit male fertility issues as well.

I utilize a "high value" type of model, where a lot of education and recommendations are provided at each session, with fewer total visits than most providers. On average PCOS and female hormone balance cases require at minimum one initial visit, as well as one PCOS/hormone balance follow up. For weight management in conjunction with PCOS/hormone balance, I can provide up to two follow ups myself, with associates completing all other follow ups once your condition is stable to allow for room for other new clients in my practice.

I strive to price my services fairly — making them accessible to most individuals while allowing me the time needed to invest intensively in each case to drive real results. Functional Medicine naturally costs more than traditional, insurance-based services for a reason: it demands extensive provider expertise, advanced training, significant time commitment, continuous education, and is still not widely available.

Unlike many Functional Medicine practitioners who require numerous ongoing sessions, my goal is to help the majority of clients within just two to four total sessions, depending on your diagnosis and condition. Typically, the combined cost of these 2–4 sessions, along with recommended supplements, averages around $1000 - $1,500 over the course of 4–6 months.

While many providers order thousands of dollars’ worth of testing, I have learned — through years of experience — how to streamline the process and achieve similar results without unnecessary expenses. After working with so many individuals over the years, I firmly believe that healing the body through a Functional Medicine approach is a one-time investment for a lifetime of better health.

There is no price tag on feeling good and living well.

Moreover, many clients find that their investment comes back to them — often in the form of lower medical bills, fewer medications, and fewer missed workdays. From the IBS or Crohn’s client who can finally get to work on time and engage fully in life, to the IVF client who requires fewer retrievals, the PCOS client who conceives naturally, or the rheumatoid arthritis or colitis patient who reverses disease activity and reduces medication — the financial (and personal) payoff is undeniable.
